PISCES SYSTEM
Online shopping has seen a surge of adoption during the pandemic, and with it comes an increase in use of plastic packaging and bubble wraps. This contributes to the already dire plastic pollution in oceans and landfills.
To address this, we wanted to shift away from the linear single-use packaging system of couriers and shift towards a circular system that uses reusable packaging.
We aim to produce our cord-locks through 3D printing recycled PET bottles that commonly pollutes any environment, which would help us to further reduce the use of new plastic materials in our design. The old broken cord-locks would then be melted and be poured in the mold to be reused again. The pouches that no longer serves its purpose due to its limited shelf-life, would then be disassembled and re-used either, as a padding, a cord strap, and or as an outer layer of the pouch.
Basically, all of our materials would be endlessly re-used to prevent them from polluting our environment.
